Rapid AEye is a product developed by Elemodo; investigative services surfaced through the platform are performed by licensed investigators, including Kevin W. McClain Investigations Ltd.

Information we collect

The personal information you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask for it.

  • When you submit an investigation request, we collect the details you provide about the incident: location, date and time, a description, and any documents, photos, or files you upload.
  • When you register for an account, we may ask for contact information such as your name, company name, address, email address, and telephone number.
  • When you contact us directly, we may receive your name, email address, phone number, the contents of your message and any attachments, and any other information you choose to provide.
  • Our web and mobile applications may collect device information and location data to operate features you use.
  • Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; we retain limited billing details (such as the last four digits and card type) to service your account.

Permissible purpose

Rapid AEye is intended for permissible, lawful purposes such as insurance claims, legal proceedings, and authorized investigations. When you submit a request you attest to a permissible purpose. Information obtained through the platform must be used consistent with applicable law, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA) where applicable. You are responsible for your use of any results.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our website, apps, and investigation services;
  • Fulfill investigation requests, including surfacing available evidence and, where you request it, coordinating licensed investigators to retrieve it;
  • Improve, personalize, and expand our services;
  • Understand and analyze how you use our services;
  • Process payments and manage your account;
  • Communicate with you for customer service, updates, and, where permitted, marketing;
  • Send you emails, text messages, or other communications; and
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse.

How we share information

To deliver the services you request, request details and findings may be shared with the licensed investigators and service providers who perform or support the work, and with providers who help us operate the platform (such as hosting, email/SMS delivery, and payment processing). Every finding is source-stamped and time-stamped to preserve chain of custody. We do not sell your personal information.

Text messaging (SMS)

If you provide your mobile phone number, we use it to send one-time verification codes when you submit an investigation request, and, only if you opt in, notifications about your account and your requests. Message frequency varies and message & data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding the vendors who deliver messages on our behalf.

Log files

Rapid AEye follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they use our services. The information collected may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and the number of clicks. This information is used to analyze trends, administer the site, track movement on the website, and gather aggregate information; it is not linked to personally identifiable information.

Cookies and web beacons

Like most websites, Rapid AEye uses cookies to store information including visitors' preferences and the pages accessed. This information is used to optimize the user experience by customizing content based on browser type and other information. Data retention

Rapid AEye retains data for as long as needed to provide the services and to maintain records of investigations, and may retain complete backups for up to sixty days. Data may continue to be retained where required for legal, regulatory, or functional reasons (for example, maintaining the record of an investigation). You may request that your data be removed at any time by contacting us or, for account holders, through your account settings.

CCPA privacy rights (Do Not Sell My Personal Information)

Under the CCPA, California consumers have the right to request that a business disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal data it has collected, request deletion of personal data, and request that a business not sell their personal data. We do not sell personal information. If you make a request, we have one month to respond. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

Account holders may delete their account, including affiliated data, other than data that must be retained for legal or functional reasons (such as records of completed investigations).
